Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) is a protocol for transmitting data between servers and clients (usually small wireless devices like mobile phones). WAP is analogous to HTTP in the World Wide Web. Many mobile phones include WAP browser software to allow users access to Internet WAP sites.
The data on the WAP site is organized category wise, so that the user gets easily what he wants. The WAP site is designed to maintain a friendly and easy to use user interface.
About the Product
The WAP site would be developed in a version wise manner. Each version will be a developed form of the previous one.
The WAP site content includes Wallpapers, Polytones, Truetones, Themes and Games.
The WAP site content would be available to the user in a 3- phase manner. In the first phase, the user will open the WAP site and select the desired Category. In the second phase, the user will select the desired Content Item. In the third stage, the details about the selected content item and the download link will be provided to the user. He can click the download link and download that content item on his mobile phone.
To avail this service the Handset should support GPRS feature.
Only the Content Item supported by the user’s handset would be displayed on the WAP site.
The Cost of download will be displayed along with the Download link with each Content Item.
The cost of downloading will not include the Browsing charges.
User Experience
Mr. A wants to download latest Ring tones and Wallpapers on his handset. He enters the WAP site URL say, www.cellworld.in. He selects the Ring tone and Wallpaper of his choice and clicks on the Download link. The item gets downloaded to his handset through GPRS.
Cellnext launches Marathi services for Airtel Maharashtra (15th June'06)
Cellnext, has launched SMS based alert services specially customized in Marathi for Airtel users in Maharashtra.
These alerts will be available to users on pre defined time schedules for each alert. In the beginning, there are three categories of such services such as News, Entertainment and Horoscopes. To subscribe to these alerts a user will have to send a SMS “Sub” followed by “service keyword”.
In News alert services category there will be five alerts pushed everyday for the various segments like general, local, sports, International and market. These alerts will be available by sending the keyword “MNEWS” to the specified short code “56677”.
For entertainment alerts, three alerts will be sent everyday starting with Thought of the day, Joke and Trivia. The keyword for the same shall be “MENT”.
In the daily horoscopes category, one alert will be pushed daily. The keyword for this service will be “MARI MTAU MGEM MCAN MLEO MVIR MLIB MSCO MSAG MCAP MAQU MPIS” in correspondence to the subscribers sun-sign.
Cellnext offers subscription services to Reliance (1st June'06)
